Alright, I feel like a fucking loser typing in this blog all the time, and I should be doing my school work, but I found something incredibly stupid and I just have to say something.

Taken from a LiveScience.com article:

A researcher has come up with some simple math that sucks the life out of the vampire myth, proving that these highly popular creatures can't exist.

University of Central Florida physics professor Costas Efthimiou's work debunks pseudoscientific ideas, such as vampires and zombies, in an attempt to enhance public literacy. Not only does the public believe in such topics, but the percentages are at dangerously high level, Efthimiou told LiveScience.

Legend has it that vampires feed on human blood and once bitten a person turns into a vampire and starts feasting on the blood of others.

Efthimiou's debunking logic: On Jan 1, 1600, the human population was 536,870,911. If the first vampire came into existence that day and bit one person a month, there would have been two vampires by Feb. 1, 1600. A month later there would have been four, and so on. In just two-and-a-half years the original human population would all have become vampires with nobody left to feed on.

If mortality rates were taken into consideration, the population would disappear much faster. Even an unrealistically high reproduction rate couldn't counteract this effect.

"In the long run, humans cannot survive under these conditions, even if our population were doubling each month," Efthimiou said. "And doubling is clearly way beyond the human capacity of reproduction."

So whatever you think you see prowling around on Oct. 31, it most certainly won't turn you into a vampire.

You're kidding me, right? A researcher came up with this? Is this article a joke? Anyone who has the ability to think logically could figure this out. It almost makes me wonder how long this "researcher" took to come up with his conclusion. He even put in exact dates and everything. Seriously, does this person honestly think that so many people take vampires this goddamn literally? Poor bastard could have done so much worthwhile things with the time it took to figure this useless shit out.

The belief of vampires is "dangerously high"? What kind of 'high' is THIS guy on? Since when do peoples' beliefs affect you (unless some religious extremist comes along)?

Besides, original vampires weren't like that. They were spirits, feeding off of people to sustain them in the afterlife. I'm not thinking spirits would be able to reproduce, unless some scientific breakthrough has proved otherwise, or something.

And the modern view of vampires is that they are pretty much dead, right? That's why they need blood, so they can "live". You don't need some "debunking logic" to prove that dead people can't get jiggy with it, appealing as that may seem (Honestly though, the idea of romantic vampires IS appealing. Makes me wish there really were vampires, and not just some phony goth kids either).

A number of diseases could develope for the vampire aswell, given the vitamin D deficiency. Come to think of it, I probably have one of those diseases right now. Damn.

In other news, I've been having REALLY weird dreams lately. Too weird to explain, though... sorry.
