I got pissed watching this. Not because the horses are being slaughtered, but because the reactions of the people who watch it and make it like it's a huge deal. Why don't people get this upset over cows or pigs being slaughtered?

Many comments state that horses are too beautiful to be slaughtered. Well, that's tough. Try telling that to a cheetah or some other predator animal.

Another comment states something like "it's sickening what people do for food". Ever see what killer whales do? They toss their pray around before they eat it. Or perhaps a pride of lions eating a zebra alive.

Just because something is "beautiful" in our eyes doesn't mean that it will live forever or won't be eaten. That's life.

For any wondering or thinking that I'm cold hearted, I very much hate the idea of real fur coats. An animal does not deserve to be killed simply for fashion.

edit - It seems most of my views on fur farming were wrong. In fact, fur farmers seem to take very good care of the animals, one reason being that if they didn't then the fur would be dull and the farmer wouldn't get much profit from it. See more here. I still wouldn't wear a full fur coat, however.. they seem to require a lot of care which would probably be quite expensive. 0 Comments - Post/view comments
