I went to the grocery store with my mom today, and as I was waiting for her to get lettuce this old-ish guy walked by me, smiling, and said something like "Smile, dear". I wasn't even aware I wasn't smiling, I didn't feel sad, and as soon as he said that I ended up feeling terrible. And what was I supposed to do, walk around with a cheesy smile all the time? I know he meant well but I hate it so much when people tell me I look sad or tell me to smile when in fact I feel quite happy. It makes me think that there's something wrong with me.
