I entered the Set Ben Straight contest sometime last week (it ended yesterday), not expecting my refutation to even get published. But it did, albeit not the whole thing. This is the full version to a claim I chose for anyone who's interested:

The first thing I thought of when I read this was your science teacher calling out "Stein... Stein..."

Because really, Ben, if you would have attended your science classes more often you would've known better and wouldn't have gotten expelled! So let's review:

Abiogenisis tries to explain where life originated. Evolution doesn't even try to answer where life came from or where physics came from, as these are completely different fields!

Elementary, my dear Stein!

All evolution does is provide an explanation as to how life on earth came to be so various, and the fact that you don't understand how the cell got so complex, or how it can repair itself, doesn't make evolution any less valid. Do some research, man! If you don't know something, make it a goal to find out!

And if it was simply a matter of freedom of speech, I or anyone else could waltz into medical school, say that witchcraft is a valid alternative, and demand it be taught that way. But it isn't like that, and in fact, the very grounds of medicine relies on biology which in turn relies on evolution! Isn't that amazing?

So get your tush back in class, because learning is fun, damnit, and assuming a divine being did everything is the lazy way out and I know you can do better than this!
